Is it okay to text you?

Is it okay to call you?

Losing someone you love is one of the most life-altering experiences a person can go through. Everyone grieves differently, on their own time and in their own way.  Sharing your story and having someone to be in that space with you, listening without judgment, and giving coping tools is necessary in learning to live with loss and finding hope for your future. We provide a safe place for you on this painful journey, to remind you that you are not alone, and to help you find your purpose after loss.

In the initial session we will assess your needs, your goals, and create a plan that works for you, at your pace. We provide goal-oriented sessions teaching you skills to cope with the emotions, get through daily responsibility while grieving, gain support, and re-define life after loss. We have EMDR trained therapists and offer research-based grief and experiential methods.

No one should have to go through this painful journey alone. We make it convenient by offering in person, online sessions, phone, text, and email. Together we will find what you need, what works best, and is most comfortable for you. To learn more about length and time frame of sessions call for an initial consultation today.

    Body, Mind, Spirit, Connection

The body, mind, and spirit are interconnected aspects of a person that contribute to their overall well-being and holistic health.

Body:  The initial stages of grief are largely noticeable in the body. People may experience appetite changes, feeling foggy, sleep patterns thrown off, intense triggers and memories that make you highly anxious, sad, or are debilitating.  They may have a lack of focus, concentration, memory issues, or forgetfulness.  For women, changes in their cycle, sometimes even missing monthly cycles due to stress….

Mind:  We have memories, events, and experiences that get stored in our bodies and mind that can affect our daily living and quality of life and can change our life perception drastically.  When we go through traumatic experiences, it becomes more and more difficult to live in the present without anxiety, sadness, anger, pain, sorrow, shame, and many more emotions.  These are stored in our memory and thoughts as well as our body.

Spirit:  Gaining a greater understanding of our belief system surrounding death is an important part of the grief journey, and it can have a major impact on a person’s ability to come to terms with what happens to their loved ones when they die.  We are here to support as they explore this and believe it is very personal to each person. We honor everyone for what they believe and help them come to terms with loss on a spiritual level…….

Connection: As human beings we are wired for connection, we need connection for survival.  When a person goes through loss, trauma, and difficult life circumstances, they cannot do the journey alone.  Supportive relationships carry people through vital changes, such as finding a home, redefining life, and moving forward.  Isolation and attempting to do it alone is what causes more depression, anxiety, and stress.  Our goal at Oak & Willow is to support you through your journey.  We help you build the connections and relationships you need to maintain and sustain a life of joy and hope, even when in despair.
